20 design rules you should know

The majority of the rules seem like common sense to me. Some of these are rules you learn in English or writers classes. The few rules that I never really had to think about or even considered were rules 3, and 7. Rule 3 keep your line lengths short, I've never really done anything where I had to deal with this. Rule 7 always use a grid, similar reason as rule 3, I haven't done anything to really worry about this.
